An Urgent Message From CrossRoads Missions'
Executive Director...
CrossRoads Missions has recently purchased a building in New Orleans that will house our operations and those who work with us on short-term mission trips. We are in process of rapidly preparing it for our permanent New Orleans field location. As you can imagine, we are very excited about what the future holds in our New Orleans field because of the potential this building will help provide. Right now we are in need of skilled help so that we can occupy this facility by June, 2008!
Because our needs for this project are so urgent, participation fees have been waived for anyone replying to this email who is available to help in the outlined timeframe. Likewise, if you are able to assist during this time and need some help in getting to the field please let us know. If we can assist we will. Our volunteers make our ministry successful; we look forward to serving with you soon.
Below is the build schedule. We would greatly appreciate your help in any of the weeks listed, and especially in your areas of skill and service.

Discovery Ministries is a wilderness ministry in south-central Missouri that seeks to draw people closer to God through His creation and through outdoor ministries. Participants will be working together each week beginning with teambuilding activities such as high/low ropes courses, group initiatives, and orienteering (map and compass work).
As a group learns to work together as a team, they will assist in the construction of a new office/housing building and a maintenance building. These buildings are necessary for Discovery Ministries to continue their ministry effectively and to allow room to grow. Read more...

A Help Build Hope event offers local churches an opportunity to mobilize its members to be accountable to these specific responsibilities. Dedicating time, resources, hands, and prayers to help others in need begins to fulfill this directive and serves to help unify the Body of Christ among peoples and nations. Help Build Hope events provide a “teachable moment” for teaching the importance of worship, service and discipleship within the body of Christ. The tool we have selected to use in teaching these principles is the framing and construction of homes for those who need housing. A Help Build Hope event brings these wall framing projects directly to the parking lot of your church, camp or convention. When the walls have been framed there is a prayer and dedication service after which the walls are donated to a partnering organization. This partnering organization will then take the home to completion. Read more ...
The Inner-City Ministry Field is our newest field of service!
In Louisville, KY, we are partnering with Jefferson Street Baptist Center and Greater Galilee Church focusing on facility renovations. Our primary goal is to update Jefferson Street Baptist Centers' worn down homeless shelter in order to help enable them in serving the homeless population of Louisville. At Greater Galilee Church, we are helping to repair their basement which has been damaged from frequent flooding due to rain. In doing so we will help to free up their resources to better reach their community.
In Cincinnati, OH, Crossroads Missions will be working with State Avenue Church of Christ and Hope Inner City to provide some much needed repairs and up keep on the storefront building that they occupy. This building was originally built in the 1900's. The State Avenue Church of Christ has been shining the light of Christ in the neighborhood for the past 40 years. It ministers to over 100 people each week through a relationship based ministry. The Hope of Christ has transformed many lives throughout the history of this church and continues to do so today.
In Chicago, IL, Crossroads Missions has teamed with Rock Church & Circle Urban Ministries in focusing on facility renovation within the community of Austin, which is on the West Side of Chicago. The focus is to renovate an abandoned high school, which will provide 12 more classrooms and offices for a Christian preparatory school. Within that complex, work will also be done to rehab a 1,100-seat auditorium, replacing a gymnasium as Rock Church’s sanctuary. We are also involved in community outreach by helping in after-school programs, tutoring in an adult literacy program, serving in a breakfast ministry, and building relationships with the adults and children in the neighborhood. In our desire to meet the needs of the people affected by Hurricane Katrina's devastating blow to the United States Gulf Coast region we have transitioned from various forms of cleanup to rebuilding and restoring lives and homes in the Central City Area of New Orleans. Through serving those devastated and misplaced by this terrible storm we hope to live out Christ's example of service by demonstrating His love for mankind through our actions, words, and lives. Beginning in October of 2006 we commenced new home construction in the Central City area of New Orleans along with ongoing remodeling of homes that CrossRoads Missions teams have previously gutted in Chalmette. CrossRoads Missions combines ...
... the biblical principles of worship, service and discipleship by being a doorway for churches and individuals seeking ministry opportunities in places they may otherwise have difficulty serving. CrossRoads
Missions accomplishes
this goal by bringing people of all ages into missions in the United
States and foreign fields. These experiences greatly challenge those who
participate to consider deeper involvement in ministry in both the world
and their own communities.
Mission teams who participate with CrossRoads
Missions are involved in multiple areas of ministry including: construction,
medical missions, education, discipleship, evangelism, worship, and
disaster relief. CrossRoads Missions enhances existing local ministries,
supporting them with additional resources they may be unable to provide.
CrossRoads Missions achieves its highest level of effectiveness by working
alongside of these ministries. When a CrossRoads Missions team leaves a
mission field, ministering the Gospel does not.
CrossRoads Missions began serving as a faith-based mission
organization in 1993 and is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.
We are currently engaged in ministry, mission and service in Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY,
Appalachia Kentucky,
Piedras Negras, Mexico, South Central Missouri, Chicago, IL, and in the New Orleans, LA area.
