About CrossRoads Missions
...
Our Purpose |
Our Founder | Our Statement of
Faith OUR PURPOSE Above all else CrossRoads is a doorway for churches
and individuals seeking ministry opportunities in places they may
otherwise have difficulty serving. We accomplish this goal by
bringing people of all ages into missions in the United States and
foreign fields. These experiences greatly challenge those who
participate to consider deeper involvement in ministry in both the
world and their own communities. Mission teams who participate with
us are involved in multiple areas of ministry including:
construction, medical missions, education, discipleship, evangelism,
worship, and disaster relief. CrossRoads enhances existing local
ministries, supporting them with additional resources they may be
unable to provide. Our service achieves its highest level of
effectiveness by working alongside these ministries so that when we leave,
the ministry of Jesus does not. CrossRoads Missions is recognized
by the I.R.S. as 501(c)3 non-profit organization. As such,
contributions to CrossRoads Missions may be tax deductible.
OUR FOUNDER Rob Minton is the
founder and Director of Crossroads Missions. Rob is a graduate of
Milligan College.
Rob is married to Dr. Beth Minton, also a graduate of Milligan
College and Southern
College of Optometry. Rob and Beth are the proud parents of Anna
Grace, their first child. Anna Grace was born March 17, 2005.
Rob and Beth both share a strong background in missions and field
service.
Beth's family served in Zimbabwe, Africa in the 70's and 80's.
Beth also served with CrossRoads Missions and SVOSH, (Student
Volunteers in Optometric Services to Humanity).
Rob's introduction to missions was through multiple short and
medium term opportunities in South, Central, and North America. It
was through these life changing adventures that he has seen the
effectiveness of short-term missions. In developing CrossRoads
Missions, Rob pursued his vision to develop an organization to
introduce and sustain youth and adults in meaningful life service
through short-term missions. He is continually developing new
opportunities for others to demonstrate what the body of Christ is
capable of accomplishing together when we focus on the Cross. His
desire is to continue to expand the outreach of CrossRoads Missions
and form effective partnerships focused on short term missions with
churches across America.
OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
Note:
every scripture reference has a link that opens a new window where you may read that verse.
Scripture: The Bible is
God’s recorded revelation to His people. The Canon of Holy Scripture
contains the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments and is
the inspired and incarnate Word of God. We believe that all
Scripture was designed for our instruction.
II Timothy 3:16-17.
The Trinity: There is only one eternal, almighty, and perfect
God. Within the Being of God exists three eternally distinct and
coequal Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These
three Persons are the one true God.
Matthew 3:16-17
- God the Father: Creator and Sustainer of the universe. He is all
loving, knowing, powerful, and present.
Genesis 1:1,
Ephesians 4:6.
- God the Son: Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who took upon
Himself human flesh through the miraculous conception by the Holy
Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless human
life, willingly took upon Himself all of our sins, died and
physically rose again. He is our Redeemer and sits at the right hand
of the Father as our advocate and mediator. He will return visibly
to the earth as King of kings and will judge every human being.
John 1:1-3,
John 1:14a,
Isaiah 9:6,
Hebrews 4:14-15,
Matthew 25:31-34,
Matthew 25:41,
Matthew 25:46.
- God the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit convicts the world of guilt in
regard to sin, righteousness and judgment. The Spirit draws people
to Jesus Christ, indwells all believers and guides them to lead
Christ-like lives. The Spirit also gives believers Spiritual gifts
with which they are used to serve one another, the church, and a lost and
needing world.
John 16:7-9,
John 16:13,
John 14:17,
I Corinthians
12:4-7,
I Corinthians 2:14-16.

Salvation:Salvation is a gift of God, free to all who confess Christ before men and believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The death of Christ on the cross is the only sufficient payment for our sins. All have sinned, but all can be saved. The Bible teaches that one receives God’s saving grace by placing ones faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ as Lord, and being obedient in baptism. Ephesians 2:8-10,
Hebrews 10:10,
Romans 5:1-2,
Acts 3:19-20,
Acts 2:38,
Matthew 10:32,
Matthew 28:18-20,
Romans 10:9,
I Peter 3:21.
The Church: The Church, which is the Body and Bride of Christ, is
composed of all persons who through a saving faith in Jesus Christ
have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Corporately and
individually, its members strive to worship, serve, and glorify God
through prayer, praise, diligent study, application of the
scriptures, evangelism, good works, and observance of the ordinances of
baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The ultimate mission of the Church is
the discipleship of all nations - not only the saving of souls
(which is primary) but also bringing the Gospel to bear on every
aspect of life and thought until the Lord returns.
Ephesians
2:19-22,
Matthew 28:18-20, I Corinthians 11:23-25, I Thessalonians
5:16-18.
The State of Man: Humanity was made in the spiritual image of God,
to be like Him in character. Although man has tremendous potential
for good, he is marred by an attitude and action of disobedience
toward God called sin. This attitude and action separates man from
God. Romans 1:18, Romans 3:23-24.
