CJ joined the CrossRoads Missions staff as a Group Coordinator in September of 2000. CJ grew up in the cornfields of Indiana and became involved in missions while serving at Converse Church of Christ as a youth intern. During this time she developed a passion for the people of Appalachia. She graduated from Milligan College in 1998 and moved to Harlan County, Kentucky to coordinate volunteer groups at the Cranks Creek Survival Center. After two years serving in Harlan County, Kentucky, an opportunity to serve with CrossRoads Missions became available. She served as the Group Coordinator/Mexico Field Coordinator for four years. In 2005, she returned to where her passion first began to serve as the Appalachia Field Coordinator. With her focus in Appalachia, she spends her time booking and preparing groups for service in Appalachia, Kentucky by coordinating all of the meals, sleeping arrangements, community outreach and cultural experiences for the participants. When CJ is not preparing to go to the field, she provides volunteer support for convention and Help Build Hope volunteers, as well as helps to publish newsletters, brochures and other promotional materials.
