Update May, 2007
Crossroads newest construction project in Piedras Negras has received tremendous financial support and hard work from many of you in its earliest stage.
The new community building were are building in Piedra Angular is a bit behind schedule, but still moving along nicely. The entire concrete slab has been completed and looks great. We are now pricing out the steel package in Mexico as well as Ohio, to weigh our options and hopefully save money. The community of El Ejido, in Piedras Negras, is going to grow tremendously this summer, due to the relocation of 50 families who became homeless after the tornado & storms in late April, 2007. We plan to assist these families in their transition and hopefully establish new relationships. We are excited about the different ways this facility will be able to serve and unite these families and the rest of our local community.

The new facility will be a community centerpiece within Piedra Angular, which is our 40+ home development on the outskirts of town. The new building will serve several needs Crossroads currently has and also play an important role in our long term vision in Piedras Negras.
First of all, the new facility will serve the hundreds of participants who come to serve every year. Currently, participants are housed and fed at the New Creation Church building. The coordination and logistics of using this building as our center of operation has become increasingly difficult and takes time away from work we are to do in Piedras. The new building would give us room to eat, sleep and fellowship within Piedra Angular. The facility will provide the room and amenities necessary to continue providing for the basic needs of those who come to serve.
Secondly, the building will be utilized for a variety of community events. The building will have a large fellowship hall which can be used for worship, concerts, recreation and other activities. There will also be a commercial grade kitchen, which can be used for community dinners, luncheons or banquets. These events will allow residents of Piedra Angular to fellowship with one another and, at times, with Crossroads groups, which has been difficult without such a facility.
Finally, the new building will provide unlimited possibilities after Crossroads completes new home construction in Piedra Angular. The designs for the new structure will allow for easy transition into a Christian school or any other need that may arise over the next few years. Crossroads has constructed schools in Piedras Negras that are flourishing and expect expansion to occur in the future. The new building will prepare us for this expectation or other plans that God has in store. We are currently working to raise $90,000 for this project. If you are interested in partnering with us to complete this goal, please contact Gina (Mexico Field Coordinator), for more details. Crossroads is excited about this project and invites you to pray for and participate in our vision in Piedras Negras.
