The "BUZZ" in New Orleans

One of the new buzz phrases in the city of New Orleans this past year has been "Finish Strong!" It reflects a spirit of perseverance and courage embraced by the people here. Since the devastating blow of Hurricane Katrina, almost five years ago, this attitude has been cultivated and nurtured as Christians have come and contributed over four million volunteer hours to help rebuild the city and offer the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

Crossroads Missions has had the privilege of being a part of God's work here in the Greater New Orleans area and this Spring promises to kick-off another exciting and impacting season of short-term mission trips. Already we have over 900 volunteers signed up to come participate. We will be continuing our work with Desire Street Ministries, St. Roch Community Church, The Gathering, and imageHope Christian Church, as well as beginning new partnerships with Street Ministries, a new church plant in Gentilly, and assisting in the efforts of the downtown homeless shelter. Projects and activities will include renovations, neighborhood clean-up, demolition, summer kids programs, and ofcourse, Hot Dog Night at the park.

Our staff welcomes you to come and share your gifts and talents on some of the many projects we have lined up for this spring. See our New Orleans home page for more details and contact information. As always, we ask for your continued prayers as we seek to fulfill our purposes here in The Big Easy.

Help Build Hope Ramps Up for 2010

image2010 is shaping up to be another banner year for our Help Build Hope team. We have 19 events scheduled during the months of April, May and June.

We started off our 2010 calendar with a trip to Tampa, FL, our southern most build to date.  We will hit the opposite extreme when we travel to Bismarck, ND in July.  We will return to the Philadelphia and Richmond, VA areas for our annual eastern extreme.  This year we are slated to travel to our most western event when we travel to the Denver area.

Our team requests your prayers as we log many hours on the road pulling trailers.  Check out our event schedule and come by and help if we are in you area.  If you are interested in setting up a fall build at your church, contact Andy at 502-410-4290.

Medical Mission Trip - Spring 2010

2009 Medical Missions Trip on YouTube

In 1994, CrossRoads Missions began taking groups of medical professionals & students to Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to conduct week-long medical mission clinics (brigadas medicas). Over the following 13 years, these trips greatly developed in terms of participation as well as immediate effectiveness and outreach opportunity. The staff of CrossRoads Missions decided to launch another ministry (Mission Trinidad) whose focus could be entirely on developing community health in northern Coahuila and therefore more effectively and sustainably use the short-term mission clinics.

Medical Clinics

With the help of Mexican translators and pastors, the medical teams set up clinics in the outlying areas of the community where... read more here!

Who Is CrossRoads Missions?

CrossRoads Missions combines the biblical principles of worship, service and discipleship by being a doorway for churches and individuals seeking ministry opportunities in places they may otherwise have difficulty serving. CrossRoads Missions has been accomplishing this goal by bringing people of all ages into missions in the United States and foreign fields since 1993. These experiences greatly challenge those who participate to consider deeper involvement in ministry in both the world and their own communities.

Mission teams who participate with CrossRoads Missions are involved in multiple areas of ministry including: construction, medical missions, education, discipleship, evangelism, worship, and disaster relief. CrossRoads Missions enhances existing local ministries, supporting them with additional resources they may be unable to provide. CrossRoads Missions achieves its highest level of effectiveness by working alongside of these ministries. When a CrossRoads Missions team leaves a mission field, ministering the Gospel does not. We are engaged in ministry, mission and service in Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, Appalachia Kentucky, Piedras Negras, Mexico, and in the New Orleans, LA area.
