CrossRoads Missions' Help Build Hope

One of the responsibilities of the Church is sharing the key to spiritual life from the Scriptures that leads to a relationship with Jesus Christ; and to serve our fellow man in practical ways such as meeting needs for clothing, feeding, and sheltering. Sharing the Gospel is most effective when others have seen it lived out in the lives of those who follow Jesus.

A Help Build Hope event offers local churches an opportunity to mobilize its members to be accountable to these specific responsibilities. Dedicating time, resources, hands, and prayers to help others in need begins to fulfill this directive and serves to help unify the Body of Christ among peoples and nations.

Help Build Hope events provide a "teachable moment" for teaching the importance of worship, service and discipleship within the body of Christ. The tool we have selected to use in teaching these principles is the framing and construction of homes for those who need housing. A Help Build Hope event brings these wall framing projects directly to the parking lot of your church, camp or convention. When the walls have been framed there is a prayer and dedication service after which the walls are donated to a partnering organization. This partnering organization will then take the home to completion.

Estimated Costs

Costs will vary according to season of year, region of country, and discounts from suppliers thus these estimates are subject to change without notice. The cost estimate below reflects the costs for a single housing unit.

  1. Materials (a complete itemized list will be provided by CrossRoads Missions): $3,300 to $4,500
  2. Blueprints, worship materials, wall transportation, storage, travel expenses, tools, equipment and project management: $2,000
  3. Estimated total cost is $5,300-$6,500 for a one-house build. Contact us for costs for multiple house builds.
  4. Events more than 400 miles (one way) from our Louisville, Kentucky offices are subject to additional travel fees.
  5. The participating church or organization provides all food and preparation of meals.
  6. The participating church or organization will purchase the materials and provide funding for delivery of the materials to the project site.
  7. The roof package for the home is included in the materials cost shown above in item 1, but is not purchased by the church or organization locally. The roof package is purchased by the receiving organization when the home is delivered to the actual housing site. As such, the hosting church or organization will provide a separate check to the receiving organization on the day of your event.

Materials generally are the single largest cost item. We recommend that you source through your local church and businesses for someone who may be connected to a lumber yard and/or hardware store who might be able to help in providing materials at reduced rates.
