CrossRoads Missions - Storytellers Field
The Power Of Stories
Stories have been used for centuries to teach, inspire, humor, scare, entertain and inform. Jesus used parables extensively in his teachings. Stories of hope, courage and beauty still have the power to change the world.
CrossRoads Missions partners with various local ministries and organizations. These ministries work might be primarily focused on humanitarian aid, evangelism, outreach or other ministries.
Participants in storytellers will work with these organizations to prepare cohesive multimedia resources. (printed books/brochures, video, photography, etc. depending on the skill sets of the participants)
These organizations can then use these resources to inspire, enlist and encourage partners and supporters. During a storytellers trip, participants learn how to effectively use their gifts to tell the stories of the people, communities and ministries they encounter. Storytellers is, in part a traveling workshop for those who want to learn the craft and for those looking to hone their skills.
Storytellers exists to partner with aid organizations, missions, ministries and churches helping them to tell their story and the stories of those they serve. We do this with volunteer participants skilled in journalism, photography, videography, graphic-design and other communication related fields, as well as those wishing to learn how to tell these stories more effectively.
There are many ministries and organizations across the world that excel in providing care, aid and hope to those in physical, emotional and spiritual need. However they are not all able, either technically or financially, to effectively share their work with their partners and supporters. Storytellers partners with these ministries and organizations to help them share their vision, their successes and the great need for their services.
Your skills in the following areas can impact the world.
Use your skills in photographic arts to help tell the stories of ministries and those they serve by putting a face on the statistics.
Wether you are a journalist or aspiring novelist, your talents can be used to help further the work of ministries across the globe.
Have a passion for telling a story with film? There are some amazing stories out there just waiting for you to film.
Use your artistic talent to help put together presentations, videos and publications focusing on ministries around the world.
If you know how to get the best sound on field, then your skills are needed to help capture the stories of changed lives.
Use your skills in grant research and preperation to help small ministries through compiling their history, written background, project descriptions, collation of materials and general ministry documentations to help them effectively seek grants.
Ministries often struggle with creating compelling media, your talents can be a real boon to their work.
Spend all day on Twitter, Facebook, myspace, YouTube, Flickr or Vimeo? Then you can help ministries spread their message.
These are just a few of the many skills storytellers participants can use on the field.

Our goal is to help you relate your work to your supporters and compel people to action. Storytellers will work with your ministry to identify your most needed materials, then bring together a team to meet those needs.
Storytellers exists to partner with local missions, ministries and churches like yours to help tell your story and the stories of those you serve. We do this primarily by bringing groups of short-term missions participants skilled in multimedia, print and online storytelling to your field. Our services are contingent upon finding participants skilled in each of the areas.
