Medical Mission

2009 Medical Missions Trip on YouTube

In 1994, CrossRoads Missions began taking groups of medical professionals & students to Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to conduct week-long medical mission clinics (brigadas medicas). Over the following 13 years, these trips greatly developed in terms of participation as well as immediate effectiveness and outreach opportunity. The staff of CrossRoads Missions decided to launch another ministry (Mission Trinidad) whose focus could be entirely on developing community health in northern Coahuila and therefore more effectively and sustainably use the short-term mission clinics.

Medical Clinics

With the help of Mexican translators and pastors, the medical teams set up clinics in the outlying areas of the community where medical attention is limited or absent. The medical clinics are based on Biblical holistic medical care and focus to build up disadvantaged individuals and communities by incorporating health care, evangelism, medicine, and education of nutrition/wellness into their daily lifestyles. A team of doctors, nurses, students are needed to conduct clinics in these communities. It is a great hands-on experience for nursing, physician assistant, and medical students. Non-medical participants are also welcome and can be used according to their gifts and abilities as well as add support to our medical team.
