The past two months have been full of uncertainty for so many of us. We’ve had to find ways to adapt—whether that means taking a new job, repurposing production to fulfill new needs, or embracing a new dynamic in home life. One thing that hasn’t changed? The passionate desire of everyone here at CrossRoads Missions to serve our community and make a difference in the world. As we honor Giving Tuesday today, please know this work cannot continue without your support.
Here are just some of the ways in recent weeks that CrossRoads has reached out and found ways to serve in Jesus’ name:
- Our ServeLouisville team continues to serve in construction projects. We are able to work since Kentucky has the exemption for construction during this time. We continue the work on the Veteran’s Village in Shelbyville, KY.
What is Veteran’s Village? Through a partnership with Awake Ministries in Shelbyville, we have been working to construct six tiny homes, to serve as transitional housing for veterans. We also have plans to refurbish a building that would house a chapel, community center, light kitchen, conference space, office space, and three additional apartments for transitional housing. Together, CrossRoads and Awake are working together to provide needed housing, resources, and support to veterans in crisis.
- Our Mexico team continues to serve the refugee population in Piedras Negras. People there are in great need, as they are stuck in the refugee immigration process in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Our teams in New Orleans, Appalachia, and Louisville continue to find ways to minister to their community. Meanwhile, through our partnership with Digital Promotions, we continue to produce hospital-grade masks for frontline health care workers.
The work continues, but so does our need for funds to keep the work going. CrossRoads relies on income from our mission trips to cover the vast majority of our operations budget and our entire schedule of reservations was cleared due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why we’re asking you to consider making a donation today as part of Giving Tuesday. We recognize many people are facing their own financial uncertainty; you still can help by sharing our cause with your friends and family via email and social media.
Meanwhile, we ask that you continue to pray for us. We’ll do the same.
